What To Expect
Classes offer stillness to be with the breath as well as fluidity at times, supported by thoughtfully curated music and taught with care.
Rae Roots Yoga acknowledges the roots of yoga in India. Blending hatha practice (including vinyasa and ashtanga) with Bhakti elements like chanting mantras with the harmonium, and a trauma-aware, body-respecting approach informed by tantric philosophy, nervous system science, and lived experience.
Every class includes:
• a grounded welcome into your second home
• asana (yoga postures), with option to modify
• pranayama (breath work practice)
• meditation and rest
• optional hands on adjustments
• mantra and/or harmonium
If you’re looking for yoga that feels meaningful, intelligent, and genuinely supportive rather than rushed or performative, these classes are designed for you.
What My Clients Say…
“The practice of yoga is something you can do anywhere in Vancouver, but I don’t feel like I have ever truly practiced with gratitude and awareness until I came here.”

“Rae cares!!! She does this for the right reasons - really cares about people (you!!), about integrative healthcare that can make a difference, and holds a high standard of knowledge of / respect for the lineages of yoga. I trust her heart as a friend, her skill as a teacher, and her integrity as a practitioner.”

Thank you again for a beautiful practice last night. I came home feeling physically open. All the tension in my back and shoulders felt realeased, like I could move and breath easier.
Thank you for guiding my body into what it needs
