Frequently Asked Questions

Retreats are designed for humans who want more than a typical yoga break. They’re for people seeking nervous system regulation, emotional grounding, strength, spiritual connection, belonging, community and meaningful inner change. They are suitable for beginners, returning practitioners, experienced yogis, people healing from burnout, stress, grief or transition, and anyone who feels a quiet inner “yes”.
-
No. You do not need to be flexible or deeply spiritual. My retreats are beginner-friendly while still deeply enriching for experienced practitioners. Sessions are paced, trauma-aware, adaptive, and never performance-based.
-
Retreats typically include daily yoga practice, grounding nervous system work, guided breath, ceremony, optional sharing circles, time in nature, education workshops, nourishing meals, rest, integration time and moments of joy, dance, music and togetherness.
Expect intentional structure with plenty of spaciousness. -
No. Yoga is a powerful part of the experience, but retreats also include:
• educational workshops
• movement workshops
• ceremony
• self-care and building balance
• live dj sets
• chanting, harmonium and bhakti elements
• land connection activities and nature grounding
• Ayurvedic wisdom and digestion education
• emotional release and nervous-system regulation
• community connection and witnessing
• time to rest, reflect, integrate and breatheThis is whole-being work: body, heart, mind, nervous system and spirit.
-
Yes. Safety is foundational. My facilitation is trauma-aware, emotionally intelligent and grounded in nervous system physiology. You will never be pushed to perform, reveal personal stories or go beyond your emotional or physical readiness.
Your agency, dignity and safety are continuously honoured.
-
My yoga is embodied, land-based hatha with vinyasa influence, guided by tantric understanding of the chakra system, energy and the nervous system, infused with bhakti devotion and grounded in practical science and lived spiritual practice.
-
Yes. Many retreat guests are beginners. Everything is adaptive, paced and deeply respectful of different bodies and nervous systems. Experienced practitioners also feel deeply enriched.
-
Possibly and in a supported way. When the body and nervous system finally feel safe, release can happen. That may look like tears, relief, grounding, laughter, joy, clarity or simple rest. Everything is welcomed gently and held with integrity.
-
No, this is not a religious retreat. All belief systems are welcome.
-
Sharing is always invited, never required. You can speak, cry, laugh, stay quiet, or simply listen. Many people find sharing powerful, others find simply being present enough. Both are honoured.
-
Absolutely. Many people come alone and leave feeling deeply connected. Retreats are intentionally designed to create belonging, safety and real human community. You’re more likely to leave with community and new friends.
-
Each retreat is different. Retreats offer varied options from cabins to shared lodge rooms to camping. All are chosen for comfort, grounding and nature connection. Each retreat listing specifies options.
-
Meals are nourishing, thoughtful and aligned with nervous system support and Ayurveda where appropriate. Most dietary considerations can be discussed in advance.
-
Pricing varies by retreat length, accommodation type and inclusions. The retreat page provides full details. Payment plans may be available because access matters.
-
Retreats are investments, and Rae holds commitment with kindness and clarity. Each retreat has clearly listed policies. If life circumstances shift, communication is met with compassion and honesty.
-
Often yes. My biomedical foundation allows thoughtful adaptation. Please discuss in advance so your needs can be supported appropriately.
-
No. Retreats are grounded in clarity, grounding and nervous system care. They are sober spaces by design.
